The Ludlow Tuart Forest Restoration Group (LTFRG) is aware of the considerable concern about the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) and the impact this outbreak may have on individuals and the broader community. The older demographic within our Group and some members may therefore be particularly at risk of adverse outcomes should they contract the virus. The LTFRG recognises a duty of care to the health and safety of its members and to ensure that its activities do not jeopardise the wellbeing of the broader communities in which they live.
It is with regret, that effective Friday 27th March, all non-essential LTFRG activities will be suspended until 31st May 2020 and then reviewed periodically. This suspension applies to meetings, events, displays, busy bees and other gatherings held under the auspices of the LTFRG.
The “Section 95 Parolees” will continue with cleaning the houses and completing the boundary fencing. This work will not be directly supervised by the LTFRG but communication via phone will be maintained. Delivery of required materials to support work projects will respect social distancing.
Your Committee will continue to operate on a limited basis using non face to face communication and will monitor the recommendations of relevant Authorities. While in suspension the committee will only address essential matters. Currently this is limited to paying bills, preparing a plan for planting of 50,000 tuart tree seedlings and following up funding opportunities. Other matters will be postponed until the Coronavirus crisis is over. The Committee is keen to keep this period of suspension to a minimum and look forward to once again actively involving the community in restoring the Tuart Forest and recommissioning the Ludlow Forestry Settlement.
We will provide updates to members via email, Website and Facebook, as and when we have new information.
Take care and stay safe.
