Artist: Janine Brewster
Medium: Acrylic on Canvas
Description: 'Afternoon Stroll' was inspired by a leisurely afternoon walk on the Leschenault Peninsula. The painting captures warmth through deep, rich sienna tones, renewal through green grass emerging next to burnt tree trunks, and lightness through movement in the clouds above.
Artist statement: Creating art allows me to express experienced emotions in a different form. I hope to convey these emotions with the use of colour and shape, taking elements of the Australian landscape as inspiration. My intention is to create artworks that elevate and transform the emotional atmosphere of a collector's space. Stretched canvas and paper are my chosen substrates, providing the surface for a limited palette of acrylic paints to bring the artwork to life.
