51. Where they remain

Artwork number: 51
Artist: Honnie Dobber
Medium: Oil & cold wax
Description: The tuarts stand quietly within the landscape, their pale trunks shaped by light, weather and time. Where They Remain reflects on the enduring presence of these trees within a landscape that has changed around them.
Using a restrained, cool palette and simplified forms, I wanted to capture the stillness and distinctive atmosphere of the Ludlow Tuart Forest. The work is a quiet reflection on the trees that remain and the landscape they continue to define.
