Description: As part of a series 'As Above - So Below', this work reflects the connectedness between Mother Nature, Humanity and the wild Cosmos. The Cosmos (a vessel) holds the tangled togetherness of we Humans and (the lines that i draw) with Mother Nature (with her rich and warmth and colour). The dominance of the Raven, the bird symbolising dearth, sitting outside or separate, impassive, impervious, links that Cosmos with the existence of Nature and Humanity, and through death, to their next incarnation.
Artist statement: I sketch, draw and paint as a compulsion, hungry for eloquence. I am looking for my wordless language, to converse with myself, to the Wildness and to the community about me. As a mama of four, wife of one, living the richness of a Great Southern life, I feel keenly the responsibility to find and use my voice.
