107. Ludlow blue tank

Artwork number: 107
Artist: Chris Oakley
Medium: Acrylic on plywood
Description: View of the Ludlow mill water filling station structure through the trees
Artist statement: I have been looking at the water filling station as a potential subject for a painting for so time now. I find the simple functionality of the structure using nothing more than what is required inspiring. It also displays how those who erected it intuitively understood how to make things work using the materials at hand. The filling station is viewed through the tall trees that define a vehicular roundabout.
