Artwork number: 110
Artist: Hiral Patel
Medium: Acrylic, natural sand and mixed media on canvas
Description: An aerial interpretation of the Stirling Range, where layered texture, natural sand and vivid colour reveal the unexpected beauty and organic forms of the Western Australian landscape.
Artist statement: Heart of the Range explores the unexpected colour, texture and organic forms of Western Australia's Stirling Range from an aerial perspective. Layers of acrylic, natural sand and mixed media transform the landscape into an almost abstract composition, where deep burgundy and earthy pinks surround a luminous yellow centre. Natural sand embedded within the textured surface strengthens the work's physical connection to the land, while the elevated viewpoint reveals a landscape shaped by colour, movement and form details often hidden from view at ground level.
