178. Into the Forest

Artwork number: 178
Artist: Elizabeth Wright
Medium: Watercolour
Description: A path into the filtered light and stillness of the forest
Artist statement: I paint loosely and intuitively, letting water and pigment find their own way. Here I wanted to capture the feeling of walking through a forest rather than a literal record of it: the rhythm of the trunks, the hush, the filtered light. Soft washes, preserved whites and a warm winding path carry the eye into the quiet.
