The White House - Building 1901
What is this building?
The White House, is a heritage-listed type UK7-3 forestry house from the 1960s. It has been meticulously restored by the Ludlow Infrastructure volunteer group during numerous Wednesday mornings. Colin (above photo), a professional painter, and one of our volunteers, has painted the building inside and out with paint generousley donated by Wattyl Paints, Busselton.
So what's next?
We now need to furnish the house with 1960`s period furniture and fixtures so it can be opened to the public for inspection and later, for tourist accommodation.
So what do you need?
Thanks for asking. There are a few ideas below in the photos. But please note, we are pretty picky about the correct period and quality of furniture and fixtures and of course, we would like them donated because we don't have any money! Unsurprisingly, that's a common theme at Ludlow.
If you can help, kindly upload a picture using the form below and we will get back to you. If your item is suitable, we will acknowledge your donation and put it back to work. We will encourage you to visit it from time to time, as we understand it may have sentimental value to you and your family.
White House contributors and donors
Our restoration process is straightforward and often involves Kevin finding materials at local recycling centres. For instance, the kitchen tiles you see here were expertly installed by Phillip.
